    1. The infamous tramp stamp.. I have one of those too...Lol.. Thank you for sharing your story. I can relate to it on many levels. I love the suggestion that your associate gave because that choice you made for the memorial; was an outlet to never forget those you've lost. Kudos to you for not flinching ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. My first experience with a tattoo was when someone gave me a box of Cracker Jack popcorn and inside was a sticker with a tattoo on it. You had to wet your skin hold the stencil on to the skin wait for a second or two and then lift the paper off and there was a tattoo!! Needless to say I didn't wash that spot for a week or until the temporary tattoo came off by itself LOL LOL needless to say I didn't know that one day my daughter would develop a Fascination and passion for the art. I have yet to acquire a permanent tattoo but perhaps one day I would. Maybe one day, maybe one day

    1. ... I remember those!! I liked them as well. Didn't care for the cracker jacks though. That's awesome someone in your family is into the art. Encourage her to take that passion and allow it to flourish. If you are hesitant about being permanently inked; there are exquisite henna designs out there in which you and your daughter can experience together. The Henna designs can last anywhere from 1-4 weeks and will be a way you and your daughter can share a moment together!! And thank you for your post!! : )

  3. Nice!! When in doubt go with something undeniable you'll never tire of...#YOURNAME... It's a classic move that never goes out of style. I like to hear that you noticed the artists as well. That's a driving force for me. If my artist is into what they're doing then I am sure to love the completed work. Getting inked is somewhat of an oxymoron when you think about it. You pour your troubles and worries into this temporary pain to trade off for something you can forever look at when in need of inspiration and happiness. Thank you for sharing your experience!!

  4. My first tattoo I got was a large cross I got on my arm in prison. A unusual place to get a first tatto but I couldnt beat the price 12 ramen noodle soups. I paid the guy upfront and went to his cell between recs he used a filed down paper clip that was very sharp at the tip. The inked was made from some type of burnt signs they use in prison to form an ink called soot. The way he did it was called a pick and poke basically just piercing and ripping your skin over and over by hand with no mechanical mechinism. It was EXTREME pain and took a very long time because we had to stop between head counts and chow. It took 2 days to complete and when I was done I had no a&d ointment or vasalene to put on it so I had to improvise with cocbutter. It dried up and peeled like a bitch every day for about a week and a half. Ive gotten many more since then in the free world but that one by far is my most memorable-Joseph

    1. Hi Joseph... Wow what an amazing story! Especially as your first experience with getting inked. Visually, I think the placement is a good choice. Simply unforgettable for sure : ) I have to admit before my first actual tattoo; some one informed me of the pick and poke method and I did a small flower petal on my thigh. I used a needle, sterilized it and proceeded to tear the skin to adhere the shape. No ink was used but once it healed I colored it in with gel pins... Smh.. That lasted for 3 months. The cocoa butter was good improvising on your part. It works just as well if nothing else is around. But for reference; the type of product you would need for tattoo hydration should be water based and not oil. But you can now look at that tattoo as a reminder of where you've been versus where you are now!! And I know that cross holds so much meaning to it! Kudos to you for your strength of overcoming and thank you sooo much for sharing!!

Common Placement Areas:

If you would like to be inked on a spot where you can be more in

control of who sees and also where the tattoo does not have to be so grand...

Here are a few ideas of placement for both men and women

- Wrist

-Foot / Ankle

- Inner Bicep

- Behind Ear

-Shoulder Blade

These are great areas if you are looking for an initial spot.

Script.. a little heart... zodiac symbols...stars...music notes... an

emoji : ) #Whatever!! Something small that symbolizes and is true to YOU would

be the way to go if you are somewhat apprehensive but really want to move

forward with the process. (p.s.) be careful with the foot... That is one

area that can give you some shock!! Lol... I'll get into that on another

day and topic.

NEED TO KNOW POINTS:

§ IF PLANNING ON GETTING ONE TATTOO – CHOOSE A WISE PLACEMENT

§ THE SPOTS WITHIN THE PARAGRAPH ARE GREAT FOR HAVING ONLY 1 ART PIECE

§ YOU CAN ALSO ADD ONTO THESE AREAS IF YOU SO CHOOSE TO LATER

§ THESE AREAS CAN BE EASILY COVERED ( WATCHES/ BRACELETS, HAIR, CLOTHING….ETC)

What Makes for a Perfect Placement ???

Welcome to Blackberry Inked!! This blog was generated in order to give a more unique style of discussion into the beautiful world of tattoos and piercings. Here; you can actually be a part of the many diverse topics on this trending subject... All the while; still paying homage to the "inked" individual!!! SO sit back, release the inhibitions and let's dive in!!! Perfect Placement: As you all may be aware, I only have 9 tattoos. I definitely gave much thought and consideration before placing anything permanent on my body. One would think that is the easiest decision to make for this process but ummm… think again. Where you lay your permanent art should showcase there was a concept, an ideal or at least a visualization towards the outcome. At times your artist may provide a suggestion; this does not mean one is always so eager to take it. I have met people whose first tattoo is placed on their forearms and after that (I am talking years) there was still the 1 lonely tat
